Alan Tucker is the son of renowned mathematician Albert W. Tucker. He was a student of Harvard University. He got bachelor’s degree from this University and then went to Stanford University for higher studies. In 1967 he got Master’s and then completed the doctorate in 1969. During his doctorate, George Dantzig was his coach. He trained him in ‘Circular arc graph.’ He pursued his career as a professor in Stony brook University. He was in the department of ‘Applied Mathematics and Statistics.’

Though he was a Mathematician, he worked for literature also. He told many interesting stories. In this way, he had two subjects to work. He wrote useful books of Mathematics too. ‘Applied Combinatorics,’‘ Mother – Earth series’ and ‘Black and White’ are well-known works of him.

Mother Earth is a set of three books. This book deals with the difficulties of learning science through fairy tales. The book ‘Applied Combinatorics’ contains puzzles- like exercises. This helps students to increase the mental level and maturity. One can choose harder exercises to challenge his intelligence. The subject combinatorial reasoning is used to analyze computer systems. ‘Black and white’ is the set of ten books is a fascinating scientific fiction.
